Coconut Barfi by chef Zakir



Another great recipe by chef Zakir to satisfy your sweet tooth. 

Ingredient:

Coconut crushed                               ½ cup
Whole milk                                         1 cup
Sugar                                                 ½ cup
Kewra                                                2tbsp
Khoya (daney-dar)                            250 gm
Almond                                              50 gm
Pistachio                                            50 gm

Method:
  •   Heat milk in pan.

  •   Add khoya and with spatula press it down  so it starts to break and mix with milk.
  • Add ½ cup sugar and chopped nuts.

  • Continue to cook while stirring  continuously , when sugar is almost dissolved add kewra water. Mix it and  add coconut.

  • Continue to cooking, stirring continuously  and scrapping from sides and bottom of the pan. Make sure you don’t let this burn otherwise whole thing will be ruined. Cook until this turns in to thick  from watery form  and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  • Cook further for at least 5 minutes. 
  •   Take it out in a tray and make even layer, sprinkle some chopped nuts and coconut   and let this set for  6 -8  hours. When completely set cut in to pieces and enjoy.
