Khoya by chef Zakir




 Khoya is used in many sweet dishes. Here is quick and easy recipe by chef Zakir to make fresh khoya at home. You can use this in any of sweets or halwa recipe.




Ingredient:

Whole Milk                                         190ml
White Butter                                      190gm
Dry milk powder - full cream             500gm
Green Cardamom                             4

Method:
  • In pan heat milk along with grinded cardamom seeds.

  • Add butter  and let it melt completely.
 
  •  Add dry milk powder. Mix it well with milk and butter mixture.
 


  • Continue to cook this while scrapping from sides and bottom of pan, soon it will become thick.



  • Cook it little more time till you begin to see butter, turn off heat at this point.





  • Khoya is ready  , you can use it as you wish.

 
 
 Note:

  •  Make sure you use full fat fresh milk and full cream dry powder milk.

  1. Hey, Can you tell me if it will be okay to freeze it? and also do you know of any powdered milk other than nido? I'm in canada and i havent seen nido around here

    1. Salam, I did freeze left over and used it later for halwah and it was fine. For powdered milk use any brand.I dont know about Canada as i live in Qatar and i dont use nido all the time , i have used "Rainbow" and also some other local brands, just make sure its full fat and u like the taste of it.
